Mackenzie Hall Takes Home Top Honor at Debt Collection Awards

United Kingdom debt collection agency and specialist debt buyer Mackenzie Hall, Ltd. is the recipient of the “Consumer Debt Collection Agency (DCA) of The Year” award courtesy of the sixth annual Credit Today Debt Collection Awards.

The award ceremony - which was held on November 15 at the Palace Hotel in Manchester, England - was hosted by comedienne Ruby Wax, best known for her BBC interview series “Ruby Wax Meets.”  The event saw nearly 500 of the industry's best and brightest gather for both individual and team recognition.

Each category in the Debt Collection Awards was judged by a panel of nine experts who cited strong client and customer satisfaction, responsible approaches to debt collection, excellent financial results, employee development and innovation as key criteria in their decision making. The winners and shortlist for each category were voted for democratically with Leigh Berkley, vice president of Tessera Group, leading the panel. Nominees were discouraged on the use of gimmicks in order to attract the judges' attention.

Mackenzie Hall's entry included a number of endorsements from their existing clients.

Owen James, chief executive at Mackenzie Hall, stated that the recognition is a true reflection of the progress the company has made during the last year.

 "We are delighted to receive this award, which is a real credit to our entire team,” said James.

Other awards handed out in the evening: Compliance Team of the Year was awarded to 1st Credit. Best Use of Technology was won by Apex (News - Alert) Credit Management. Best Customer Initiative was received by Frederickson International. Legal Recovery Firm of the Year was given to BW Legal and the Commercial DCA of the Year award was presented to the Zinc Group.

The award ceremony will move to its new home at the Grosvenor House in London, England in 2013.

Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Rules for Violation of TCPA
